September is Gynecological Cancer Awareness Month

Teal may be a nice color, but gynecological cancer is certainly not. September is Gynecological Cancer Awareness Month. Accounting for 19% of estimated new cancer cases each year, gynecological cancers include cervical, ovarian, uterine, vaginal, and vulvar cancers. While uterine cancer is the most commonly diagnosed of these, ovarian cancer is the most deadly, accounting for nearly 3% of cancers in women, and is the fifth leading cause of cancer-related deaths among women.
