Medical oncology: chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, targeted therapy, etc.

Today women have more options than ever in the fight against cancer; breakthroughs in treatment have tremendously improved the outlook for patients. Depending on the type, stage, size and grade of your tumor, our doctors will guide you through all options and together you will decide the treatment that suits you best.

Our recovery unit is one of the most advanced in the country and tailor made to be as comfortable as possible for our patients, offering a home-like environment and cozy atmosphere. At LHA, you can receive your treatment in-house monitored by a team of experts.

Chemotherapy: The most common treatment, ensuring that cancer cells are not able to divide or spread. This treatment is either intravenous or as an infusion, LHA has up-to-date equipment and expertise to guide you through.

Hormonal Therapy: This treatment is recommended if the tumor has receptors that feed on hormones stimulating its growth. Patients take tablets of hormone blockers or inhibitors to slow down, prevent or remove cancer cells.

Targeted Therapy: Genetic research has evolved dramatically. The discovery of the gene changes in cancerous cells have translated into the development of newer medicines that specifically target these changes and diminish tumor growth and spreading of cells.

Radiotherapy: This treatment is a highly focused and effective way to destroy remaining cancer cells after surgery. Once your doctor prescribes a treatment, radiation therapy is relatively easy to tolerate and side effects are limited to the treated area.
